MY STORY
I began racing Karts at the age of 7. As a third-generation racer, it’s fair to say racing is most definitely in my blood. Following in the footsteps of my grandfather in NZ who was a successful driver, & my father who found success as part of the 3-time Supercar Championship winning team of Stone Brothers Racing.
We put a permanent hold on my Karting career at the age of 11 so I could focus on my education and my Dad could focus on his business, Swiftek Engineering.
I knew going through school that nothing ever got me as excited as racing did, the bug had me by the teeth.
To try to combat this, I decided to try my hand at Sim Racing. This went from 2018, all the way to when my racing started up again in 2022.
Through this, I met some of my good friends today, some of which also made the switch to real racing such as Max Geoghegan and Hugo Allan.
Through my time in Sim Racing, I was able to race against some great drivers and idols of mine such as Shane van Gisbergen, Chaz Mostert, Jack Doohan, Broc Feeney, Scott McLaughlin, and many more.
Life Has No Guarantees
In early 2020 my Mum was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Being a 15-year-old kid, who spent his nights playing video games it didn't seem real. After she passed away in late 2020. My whole world had flipped upside down and inside out after just a few months.
I learned that life has no guarantees and that I'm not going to sit around and try things in my life without giving them my all. I was going to try and work my a** off and take control of my dream.
2022 Season
In July 2022 we purchased a mid-field running car in our budget & set about using the remainder of the season to focus on learning as much as possible without focusing so much on results to begin with. My first proper race was the yearly Excel Enduro where I partnered up with a friend from Sim Racing and real-life driver, Dalton Ellery! We were running in the top 10 in a 40+ car field before having car problems. Later in the season, we very quickly turned heads after finishing 2nd in the last race of 2022.
2023 Season
After a complete rebuild of the car in the lead-up to 2023, we have seen amazing success in 23', including a 2nd place finish at Bathurst, multiple race wins and podiums, and winning the EFS4x4 Aus Excel Series. We also competed in the Excel Cup Enduro with my good friend Cammy McLeod, finishing 2nd and 3rd in both races. It's all eyes forward to 2024 now, attempting to eliminate our weaknesses!
The Dream Shifts Closer
I will continue pushing myself day to day to try and take control of my dream and make it a reality. Ideally, we'd like to make the step up to some more advanced categories such as Toyota 86s or Aussie Racing Cars but we will wait till the time is right and the support is there.
